Simple Chocolate Tiramisu

Ingredients
Cream Layer
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream cold
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese softened
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Coffee Layer
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee cooled
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar optional
Assembly
- 24 –30 ladyfinger cookies
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
- Dark chocolate shavings or chips optional, for topping
Instructions
- Prepare the Coffee
- Brew strong coffee and let it cool completely.
- Stir in sugar if you prefer a slightly sweet base.
- Make the Chocolate Cream
- Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- In a separate bowl, mix mascarpone, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until light and fluffy.
- Assemble the Tiramisu
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee (don’t soak).
- Arrange a layer of dipped cookies in a serving dish.
- Spread half of the chocolate cream over the cookies.
- Repeat with another layer of cookies and finish with the remaining cream.
- Chill
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- This allows the layers to set and flavors to develop.
- Finish & Serve
- Dust generously with cocoa powder.
- Top with chocolate shavings if desired.
- Slice and serve cold.
