The Buttery, Gooey Bars That Never Last Long
Every family has that one dessert. The one that shows up at holidays, potlucks, and random Sunday dinners. The one that disappears before you can grab a second piece.
These Classic Ooey Gooey Bars have probably been around longer than most of us can remember — and they go by a dozen different names depending on who’s making them. But no matter what you call them, they’re always the first thing gone.

How to Make Our Ooey Gooey Bars
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9×13 baking pan.
2. Make the Crust
In a medium bowl, combine dry cake mix, melted butter, and egg.
Mix until smooth and fully combined.
Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
Set aside.
3. Make the Gooey Layer
In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
Add the beaten eggs and mix until fully incorporated.
Gradually add powdered sugar and beat until smooth.
4. Assemble & Bake
Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust.
