Homemade Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • ½ cup 115 g unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup 150 g granulated sugar (or brown sugar for deeper flavor)
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups 190 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon optional

Optional Add-Ins

  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven
  • Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease or line a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  • Mix the Wet Ingredients
  • In a bowl, mash the bananas until mostly smooth.
  • Stir in melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until combined.
  • Combine the Dry Ingredients
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Make the Batter
  • Gently fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  • Do not overmix — stop as soon as combined.
  • Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if using.
  • Bake
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 50–55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool & Serve
  • Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
  • Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
