Ingredients Needed

Apples

  • 3 medium apples (about 450g), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Cake Batter

  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil or melted butter
  • ⅓ cup (80ml) milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Topping (Optional)

  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

How to Make Our Italian Apple Cake

1. Preheat the Oven

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
Grease and lightly flour an 8-inch round cake pan.

2. Prepare the Apples

Toss apple slices with lemon juice and cinnamon.
Set aside to prevent browning.

3. Make the Batter

In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until pale and slightly fluffy.

Add oil (or melted butter), milk, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
