Keto Air-fried Crispy Cauliflower

EQUIPMENT:

- Large bowl
- Air fryer
- Small saucepan
INGREDIENTS: TO SEASON THE CAULIFLOWER:
- 1 medium head of cauliflower
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper
CHEESE & GARLIC SAUCE:
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup chafed Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons liquefied & unsalted butter
- 2 pieces of crushed garlic
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
TO GARNISH:
- Fresh parsley
- Extra Parmesan
INGREDIENT NOTES:
CAULIFLOWER FLORETS:
- I use fresh cauliflower florets to make this; try not to make this with frozen cauliflower florets because it may get mushy.
OLIVE OIL:
- I use olive oil to air-fry the cauliflower; you can also use other keto-friendly oils like sunflower seeds oil, or avocado oil.
SALT & PEPPER:
- Salt & pepper is used to season the cauliflower florets according to taste.
SHREDDED MOZZARELLA & GRATED PARMESAN CHEESE:
- Shredded mozzarella & grated parmesan cheese are added to the dish; mozzarella helps to provide the melting property & crispiness and parmesan cheese helps to provide the taste.
UNSALTED BUTTER:
- I use unsalted melted butter to make this dish, so we can alter the salt level according to our liking.
GARLIC:
- I use fresh garlic pieces to make this dish it enhances the flavor of the dish.
ONION POWDER:
- Onion powder is added in this recipe to provide the flavor but it is optional.
RED PEPPER FLAKES:
- I use red pepper flakes to increase the spice content of this side dish but this is optional.
FRESH PARSLEY:
- Freshly chopped parsley is used to garnish the cauliflower.
PARMESAN:
- We can sprinkle the parmesan cheese over the cauliflower when they are ready to serve
INSTRUCTION:
- Heat the air fryer at 375 degrees F.
- Take a knife & cutting board.
- Cut the cauliflower florets of roughly the same size.
- Grab a large bowl and add the cauliflower florets in it.
- Then pour the olive oil on the florets.
- Sprinkle salt, pepper, onion powder, & red pepper flakes on the cauliflower florets. Toss the florets so that it gets properly coated.
- Put the cauliflower florets in a single layer in the basket.
- Air fry them for 12-15 minutes or till they get golden brown & crispy.
- Grab a small saucepan & put on low heat.
- Include the butter & wait for it to get melts.
- Include the crushed garlic in the liquefied butter.
- Toss the garlic for 30 seconds.
- Put the saucepan on the shelf and add the mozzarella & parmesan cheese to the pan.
- When the cauliflower is done put them in the bowl.
- Add the cheese & butter garlic mixture in it.
- Properly combine all of them and coat the florets completely.
- Dish out the coated cauliflower florets in the serving dish.
- Garnish it with shredded parmesan & freshly chopped parsley & red chili flakes.
TIPS:
- We can arrange the cauliflower florets in one layer in the basket and do not overlap one floret over the other in the basket. If you put too much in it; they will get steamed instead of getting fried.
- If we want to make these cauliflower florets spicy then we can add the red pepper flakes or chili sauce.
- You can also add cheddar, feta, or goat cheese to make this recipe; it may also work the same.
- We can also alter the seasoning according to our liking like we can add lemon zest, paprika powder, or garlic powder to make it more flavorful.
STORAGE INFORMATION:
FRIDGE:
- Put the remaining cauliflower florets in the sealed container and keep them for 3 to 4 days.
REHEAT:
- We can reheat the florets in the basket for 55 minutes at 350 degrees F.
FREEZER:
- We should freeze the cauliflower florets in a single layer on the baking dish, then transfer them to the sealed bag and keep them for 2 to 3 months
