Simple Chocolate Tiramisu

Ingredients

Cream Layer

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream cold
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese softened
  • ⅓ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Coffee Layer

  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee cooled
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar optional

Assembly

  • 24 –30 ladyfinger cookies
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
  • Dark chocolate shavings or chips optional, for topping

Instructions

  • Prepare the Coffee
  • Brew strong coffee and let it cool completely.
  • Stir in sugar if you prefer a slightly sweet base.
  • Make the Chocolate Cream
  • Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  • In a separate bowl, mix mascarpone, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until light and fluffy.
  • Assemble the Tiramisu
  • Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee (don’t soak).
  • Arrange a layer of dipped cookies in a serving dish.
  • Spread half of the chocolate cream over the cookies.
  • Repeat with another layer of cookies and finish with the remaining cream.
  • Chill
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  • This allows the layers to set and flavors to develop.
  • Finish & Serve
  • Dust generously with cocoa powder.
  • Top with chocolate shavings if desired.
  • Slice and serve cold.
