Slow Cooker Potato and Onion Bake is one of the easiest comfort side dishes you can make. Thin sliced potatoes cook slowly with onions and butter until soft, tender, and full of flavor.

Perfect with chicken, beef, or pork.


Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 pounds potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced

Optional

  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Cheese
  • Bacon

How to Make Slow Cooker Potato and Onion Bake

1. Grease Slow Cooker

Butter inside of slow cooker.

Helps prevent sticking.


2. Slice Potatoes

Slice thin (about 1/8 inch).

Even slices cook best.


3. Slice Onions

Slice thin.

Separate layers.


4. Layer

Add layer of potatoes.

Add onions.

Drizzle butter.

Repeat until done.

Finish with butter on top.


5. Cook

LOW → 6–7 hours
HIGH → 3–4 hours

Potatoes should be very tender.

6. Rest

Let sit 10 minutes.

Sauce thickens.


7. Serve

Scoop from bottom.

Add butter juices on top.
