Bread Batter
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 2 large eggs
- ⅓ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Apple Filling
- 2 cups apples, peeled and diced (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Cinnamon Swirl
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Optional Glaze
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tbsp milk or cream
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan. - Prepare the Apples
In a bowl, toss diced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon. Set aside. - Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. - Mix Wet Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, eggs, milk, and vanilla until smooth. - Combine Batter
Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients just until combined—do not overmix. - Make Cinnamon Swirl
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. - Layer the Bread
Pour half the batter into the loaf pan.
Add half the apples and half the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Repeat layers with remaining batter, apples, and cinnamon sugar. - Swirl
Use a knife to gently swirl the layers. - Bake
Bake for 50–60 minutes, covering loosely with foil if browning too fast.
Bread is done when a toothpick comes out clean. - Cool & Glaze
Cool 15 minutes, remove from pan. Drizzle with glaze if desired.
