Ingredients List

Bread Batter

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Apple Filling

  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Cinnamon Swirl

  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Optional Glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk or cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Prepare the Apples
    In a bowl, toss diced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. Mix Dry Ingredients
    In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Mix Wet Ingredients
    In a large bowl, whisk granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, eggs, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Combine Batter
    Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients just until combined—do not overmix.
  6. Make Cinnamon Swirl
    In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Layer the Bread
    Pour half the batter into the loaf pan.
    Add half the apples and half the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
    Repeat layers with remaining batter, apples, and cinnamon sugar.
  8. Swirl
    Use a knife to gently swirl the layers.
  9. Bake
    Bake for 50–60 minutes, covering loosely with foil if browning too fast.
    Bread is done when a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool & Glaze
    Cool 15 minutes, remove from pan. Drizzle with glaze if desired.
