Step 1 – Melt Base
- In a heatproof bowl, melt butter and chocolate together (microwave in 20-sec intervals or use double boiler). Stir until smooth.
Step 2 – Add Sugar & Eggs
- Whisk in powdered sugar.
- Add eggs and egg yolks, whisking until creamy.
Step 3 – Fold in Flour
- Stir in flour, vanilla, and salt until just combined (don’t overmix).
Step 4 – Fill Cups
- Grease mugs or oven-safe cups.
- Fill each halfway, drop in a chocolate chunk (optional), then cover with more batter.
Step 5 – Bake
- Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12–14 minutes until tops are set but centers are soft.
- For microwave version: cook 1–1.5 minutes (watch closely).
Step 6 – Serve
- Let rest for 1 minute, then serve warm.
- Optional: top with ice cream, whipped cream, or powdered sugar
Additional Notes
- For extra gooeyness, slightly underbake.
- Use milk chocolate for a sweeter flavor, or 70% dark for rich intensity.
