KETO CHOCOLATE CHAFFLE RECIPE

Add this easy keto chocolate chaffle recipe to your keto dessert or breakfast list ASAP! Two layers of crisp waffles (chocolate, of course) sandwich a simple cream cheese frosting. This recipe is easy, delicious, and yes, low carb! If you need more crispy chaffle ideas, my big chaffles post has five more mouthwatering flavor variations.

INGREDIENTS

CHOCOLATE CHAFFLE:

  • 3/4 cup Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tbsp Wholesome Yum Blanched Almond Flour (or 2 tsp Coconut Flour)
  • 2 tbsp Besti Monk Fruit Allulose Blend
  • 1/2 tbsp Unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp Wholesome Yum Psyllium Husk Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Baking powder

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:

  • 2 tbsp Cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 tbsp Besti Powdered Monk Fruit Allulose Blend
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp Heavy cream

INSTRUCTIONS

CHOCOLATE CHAFFLE:

  1. Preheat a 4-inch waffle iron for about 5 minutes, until hot.
  2. Combine all of the chocolate chaffle ingredients in a small bowl.
  3. Pour 1/4 cup of the batter into the waffle maker.
  4. Cook until crispy, about 2 1/2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Carefully remove the chaffle from the waffle maker and set aside to crisp up more. (Cooling is important for texture!) Repeat with remaining batter, if any.

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:

  1. Make the cream cheese frosting according to the instructions here.

ASSEMBLY:

  1. Spread frosting onto one of the chaffles and place the other on top.
