Ingredients List
For the Fudge Base:
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips (preferably 70% or higher)
- 1/2 cup chocolate protein powder (your preferred brand)
- 1/4 cup almond butter (or peanut butter)
- 1/4 cup coconut oil (melted)
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or preferred sweetener)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (melted for drizzle)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (melted)
Instructions
Step 1: Melt the Base Ingredients
In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil over a double boiler (or microwave in short intervals, stirring in between). Once melted, remove from heat.
Step 2: Add Protein Powder & Almond Butter
Stir in the chocolate protein powder, almond butter, maple syrup (or sweetener of choice), and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Step 3: Assemble the Fudge
Pour the chocolate mixture into a parchment-lined 8×8-inch baking dish or a silicone mold. Use a spatula to smooth out the top and ensure it’s evenly spread.
Step 4: Drizzle with More Chocolate
Melt the additional dark chocolate chips with coconut oil for the drizzle. Drizzle this melted chocolate mixture over the top of the fudge layer.
Step 5: Chill the Fudge
Place the baking dish in the fridge for 2-3 hours or until the fudge is firm and set. You can also freeze for faster results (about 1 hour).
Additional Notes
- Protein Powder: Choose a high-quality chocolate protein powder for the best flavor and texture.
- Sweetener: You can adjust the sweetness level by adding more or less maple syrup or preferred sweetener.
- Nut Butter: If you prefer, you can substitute almond butter with peanut butter, cashew butter, or sunflower seed butter.
- Vegan Option: Use dairy-free chocolate chips and a plant-based protein powder.
